Major William Ormsby
Was killed by Paiute Indians at the battle of Pyramid Lake NV on May 22nd 1860 at the age of 33. He was originaly interned in the Carson City Pioneer Cemetery, but in 1870 his body was removed and buried in his native New York.
Ormsby County (Now Carson City Co.) was named after him.
Photos of his original burial spot were taken in Sept. of 2004.
