Arnold, Kate Arnold nee Baggs
Spirit of Democracy, Woodsfield, Ohio, dated, October 10, 1946
Mrs. Kate Baggs Arnold, 84 years of age, died in Orlando, Fla., on Sunday evening [October 6, 1946].
Mrs. Arnold was born in Martins Ferry, her father being founder of the Baggs stove foundry that in later years became the Spence-Baggs Stove company. From Martins Ferry she went to Wheeling to live and then upon her marriage to J. H. (Ham) Arnold she removed to Beallsville where her husband was engaged in the furniture and undertaking business and served several years as postmaster. Upon his retirement from business a dozen years ago they removed to Orlando, Fla. where they had since resided.
Surviving are her husband and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, a sister, Miss Alice Baggs and a daughter, Alice preceded her in death some years ago.
Funeral services were held in Beallsville and burial was in the Beallsville cemetery this Thursday.
