Angelina Parada Barron, 93, of Barksdale, died Feb. 1, 2007, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 1, 1913, inn Cuatro Ceinigas, Coahuila, Mexico, to Teodora and Eaustacio Parada.

In 1947, she and her husband, Chon, moved their family to the Nueces Canyon, where he worked on the Williams Ranch and she raised their six children.

She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1953.

Barron was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one infant daughter.

She is survived by six children, Sam Barron, Lilly Garza and Mary Martin, all of Uvalde, Paul Barron of Del City, Okla., Minnie Ramirez of Camp Wood and Alyce Bohuslavicky of Katy; one sister, Herminia Calzada of Seguin; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Barksdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Johnson, pastor, officiating.

Interment followed in Barksdale Cemetery.

Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood.
