Alton Beauchane, 76, of Washkish and formerly of Red Lake Falls died Thursday, October 25, at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston. Funeral services will be Saturday October 27 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Dorothy Catholic Church at Dorothy.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 8 p.m. prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls. Visitation will be at the church Saturday for one hour before the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Alton Beauchane was born July 30, 1914, in Norman County, the son of the Late Antone and Sophie (Larson) Sorenson. At the age of four he was adopted and raise by Felix and Marie (Lizotte) Beauchane.
He attended school at the Hout School.
He married Solange Asselin on February 19, 1941 in Crookston.
He lived most of his life in the Red Lake Falls area and worked as a carpenter until 1976, when he retired and moved to Washkish.
He had been a resident of Villa St. Vincent since April of this year.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Beauchane of Thief River Falls, Richard and Ronald, both of Red Lake Falls, and Daniel of Poseyville, Indiana; one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Ernest) Franklin of Orange Park, Florida; nine grandchildren; a brother, Victor Beauchane of Crookston; three sisters, Alice Raymond of Crookston, Rose Roi of Thief River Falls, and Viola Vaudrin of Red Lake Falls.
He was preceded in death by both sets of parents and four brothers.
