IRA W. GINGRICH OF NEAR HERE DIES; FUNERAL YESTERDAY
Funeral services for Ira Willis Gingrich, 72 of near here, who died Monday evening at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, were held yesterday at the Hagers Grove Christian Church. Burial was in the Hagers Grove Cemetery with Greening Funeral Home of this city in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Gingrich, a blacksmith for many years, was born Feb. 22, 1886 in Monroe County, the son of Simon P. and Annie (Thomas) Gingrich. His was first married to Lula Walker, who preceded him in death 45 years ago. He was later married to Letha Griffin, who survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Thornton Barton of Clarence; two brothers, Delbert Gingrich of Macon and Perry Gingrich of Clarence; three sisters, Mrs. Katie Orbin of Macon, Mrs. Mary Griffin of Clarence, and Erma Griffin of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
One daughter, Mrs. Noble Fuller; and two brothers, John and William, had preceded Mr. Gingrich in death.
