Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Richard E. Bare, 92, who died late Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman.
He was born November 2, 1917 in Youngstown, the son of Warren M. and Anna B. (Hendricks) Bare and he resided in this area all of his life.
He was a 1936 graduate of Greenford High School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was awarded a Bronze Star having served in General Patton's army during WW II.
He worked as a self employed fruit grower for 44 years before retiring in 1984.
He was currently a member of Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Austintown. He was also a former member of the Ohio Fruit Growers Association and the Salem Fruit Growers Association and he was a lifelong member of VFW Post 4579.
He married the former Frances M. Polito on January 11, 1947 and she preceded him in death April 26, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters; Mary L. Bare of Poland and Nancy A. Bare of Canfield; and a sister, Helen Cook of North Lima.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by two sisters; Theda Phillips and Mildred Roller.
