President of Argentina (1906-1910). Born in Córdoba, Argentina, he was lawyer when he began his political career being elected a Congress Representative for Córdoba and later became the Provincial Governor in 1895. In 1898, he was elected to Argentina's Congress as a Senator, serving until 1903. In 1904, he became Vice President of Argentina and succeeded President Manuel Quintana when he died in 1906. He served in office until 1910 and was the only Argentine President to date to have presided in the three powers of democratic government as a Representative, Senator and Executive President. He also got to be President of the Supreme Court of Justice from 1929 until his death in 1931 at the age of 71 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
