Charles Hins is born in Green Lake Co., WI after his parents, Christopher and Ernestine Bulow Hinz, have settled there after their emmigration to the U.S. in 1864. Unlike the rest of his siblings, Charles Hinz changes the spelling of his surname to Hins. He marries Mary Busse on 24 Sept 1896. They have 5 kids together. He works various jobs besides farming. He worked in a canning factory, was a landlord of a hotel and the 3 years before dying, he was a patrolman on Co. Trunk E. He dies in 1925 at age 53.

Body of Fairwater Man Buried at Manchester
Fairwater, Jan. 23--Funeral services for Charles Hins, who died Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock January 19, at his home in Fairwater, were held Thursday, Jan. 22, from the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev.J. Preu officiating. The deceased was 53 years of age.
Carl Gustav Hins was born Nov. 5. 1872, at Manchester, Wis., and baptized in December of the same year at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Manchester. He was confirmed April 18, 1886. On September 24, 1896, he was married to Mary Buss. They had lived at Fairwater for twenty-four years. Mr. Hins was a patrolman on County Trunk E for the past three years and was also a member of the school board.
The bearers were the three sons, Erwin, Raymond and Harry Hins, one son-in-law, D.C. Bryden, and two nephews, George Hins and Henry Shimmel. After the service the body was taken to Manchester for internment.
He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. David C. Bryden of Fairwater, three sons, Erwin and Raymond of Waukesha, and Harry at home, also one grandson, Clifford Bryden. One son preceded him in death in infancy. One brother, Herman Hins, of Manchester, and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hughes of Red Granite and Mrs. Mary Ripke of Aurora, Iowa.
