DRAPER — Charlie Alexander, 85, of Draper, died Monday evening, May 20, 1996 in the Asbury Center at Birdmont, Wytheville. He was born in Christiansburg and came to the Draper Valley home of the Charlton family as a young boy. He became a beloved member of the community and a faithful and valued member of the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church. He was the ward of Lizzie Charlton and Mosby Alexander. He was a lover of flowers and animals and made a host of friends during his life and was a true child of God. Surviving are his Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church family. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Preston Sartelle Jr. officiating. Visiting will be after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church, Route 1, Draper, Va. 24324. Stevens Funeral Home Inc., Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements.
