During the Second World War she worked at the British Embassy in Washington, DC where in 1942 she married Charles Edwin Cleminshaw (1908-1987) of Cleveland, OH. After the war Frances and Charles lived in Gross Point, MI and Cleveland, OH before moving in 1951 to lower Mandeville Canyon Road, Los Angeles, CA.
During her long and healthy life Frances participated in many volunteer organizations including The UCLA Art Council, Neighborhood Youth Assoc., The Junior League of Los Angeles, The Los Angeles County Art Museum Council, The St Matthews Thrift Shop, The UCLA Medical Auxiliary and The Washington National Cathedral Assoc. When not volunteering and after raising three daughters, Frances and her long time friend Jacquie Theis enjoyed managing the west coast distribution of Doncaster, a ladies made-to-measure clothing line.
Frances is survived by her three daughters Catherine Mary Griffin (William J.) of Rancho Mirage, CA, Suzi Higbee Given (Robert H.) of Ashland, OR / Santa Monica, CA and Joan Frances Korol (Robert) of Lake Havasu City, AZ and four grandsons Geoffrey Cleminshaw Given (Synthia Schuler) of Pacific Palisades, CA, Andrew Heales Given (Lynne Yankelevitz) of Eugene, OR, Christopher Cleminshaw Griffin (Erica Jung) of Danville, CA and Steven J. Mosebar and her nine great grand children Kelsey Lynne Inskeep, Riley Bertram Given, Carlie Schuler Given, Harper Lorraine Given, Aiden Ian Griffin and Sean Charles Griffin, Pasey Mosebar Major, Joey Mosebar Major and Keygan Mosebar Major. Frances is predeceased by her husband Charles and her beloved grandson Ian Michael Griffin (1971 - 2000).
For eternity Frances will be joined with her husband Charles in The Columbarium at The Parish of St. Matthew, 1031 Bienveneda Avenue, Pacific Palisades, CA
