Mr. Robert Henry Baker died at his residence in Sumter, SC, Thursday, Dec. 17, 1896 following an illness of several months. Several years ago Mr. Baker and Miss Marie Calhoun of Abbeville County, SC were married in the Trinity Church, of Abbeville, SC. The deceased made many friends here who tender to his bereaved wife their tenderest sympathies. The remains of the deceased were brought here Friday afternoon, Dec. 18, 1896, and laid to rest in the Episcopal Cemetery. The services at the graveside were conducted by the Masons, of which order he was a true and faithful member. Mrs. Baker and two children will make their home for the future with her father, Mrs. Norwood Calhoun. (Original obituary was rewritten to conform to Findagrave Rules by Record Hunter.)
