Henry came to Kentucky from near Danville, Virginia, the exact date is unknown; however, he is listed as a tax-payer in Harrison Co., Kentucky in the early 1800s. He bought his first tract of land in what is now Robertson Coounty on the west bank of Johnson Creek opposite the village of Piqua. This eighty-seven and one-half acre farm was purchased from David Gray for two hundred seven and one/half dollars and was recorded in the Nicholas Co. Clerk's Office on April 21, 1810. The first house eected on this farm was of stone and wood. The main part was one room of stone with a shed room attached to the rear made of wood. It had a gabled roof and faced east toward Johnson Creek. The Overbey graveyard is located on this tract of land. It lies about four hundred yards Nothwest of the present village of Piqua. When he died he owned nine hundred twenty five acres. A portion of Henry's lad is presently owned by his great-grandson, Earl Wesley Overbey. Henry was married three times. He and his first wife, Mary "Polly" Conway, were married on April 24, 1806. She was the d/o John Conway, Jr. and Ann Sutton/Conway. His second wife, Sarah "Sally" Curtis, d/o Seth Curtis and Jane Curtis became his wife November 29, 1826. Henry married his third wife, Polly Crawford, November 8, 1829. Henry had no children by his second or third wives. Henry and "Polly" Conway had eight children:
John E. Overbey, b. 1807.
Harvey Henry Overbey, b. about 1814.
Richard M. Overbey, b. about 1813.
