GRANT HANNAN was born May 8,1922, in Paden, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Lucy Thompson Hannan. He passed from this life Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 86.
He and Georgia Marie Beaird were married December 6, 1956, in Drumright, Oklahoma. Grant was a veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1942 to 1947, when he was discharged. He also worked many odd jobs and worked several years on the Brady and Sparks Ranch.
His many loves included fishing, dominoes, music and his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years; four sons, Sam Hannan and his wife Shelia of Mannsville, Okla., Floyd Hannan and his wife Madonna K. of Ratliff City, Okla., Ben Hannan and his wife Tammy of Houston, Texas, and Charles Taylor and his wife Barbara of Dewar, Okla.; three daughters, Minnie and her husband Jason Koch of Dougherty, Okla., Ella Riggle and Eric Barkley of Pruitt City, Okla., and Ellen James of Sapulpa, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother, sisters, Minnie Conn and Myrtle Sebert, and infant son, David Wayne.
Funeral services for Mr. Hannan will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton, Oklahoma, with Pastor Kenneth Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Ratliff Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton.
