MILO Services for Atlina Fuller, 81, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007, at Milo Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Ratliff City Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Born on Aug. 14, 1925, in Sikeston, Mo., to Cammie Lee Whittington and Maudie Lee Lawson Whittington, she died on May 29, 2007, in Healdton. She and Bunice L. "Buddy" Fuller were married on May 4, 1942, in Portageville, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 6, 1999; a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Slate; three sisters; and a brother.
One of nine children, she was raised on a farm in Sikeston, and, after her marriage to Buddy, lived in numerous places in the U.S. then made their home in Countyline where they owned and operated Buddy's Grocery from 1969 to 1996. Her favorite pastime was the many camping rips with her son and grandchildren and the Countyline gang. She was a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Tivis and husband, Dale, Pruitt City, Ann McCaslin and husband, Maurice, Healdton, Phyllis Arrington and husband, David, Hugoton, Kan., Brenda Shifflett and husband, Gene, Velma; three sons, Butch Fuller, Lawton, Danny Fuller and wife, Teri, Medicine Park, Gerald Fuller, Countyline; three sisters, Mary Lou Coleman, Ruby Box and husband, Dalton, and Lorine Winston and husband, Jerry, and brother, Virgil Whittington and wife, Marion, all of Illinois; brother-in-law, Doyle Fuller, and sister-in-law, Jeanette Fuller, both of Indiana; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Cary Dale Tivis, Brandon Wright, Jason Arrington, Jackie Bryant, Colt Slate and Aaron Woods.
