The organist was William Niebuhr. The ladies choir sang "So Nimm Denn Meine Haende," Congregational hymns were "My Faith Looks Trustingly" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."
Pallbearers were Arnold Arlt, Ellsworth Bartels, Orville Alsleben, Walter Alsleben, Earl Bulau and Carl Bulau.
Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery.
Alma (Arlt) Alsleben was born April 1, 1901, in Glencoe, the daughter of Charles and Ida (Wuethrich) Arlt. She was baptized May 12, 1001, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. E. Kolbe. She was confirmed at the same church April 5, 1914 by the Rev. Kolbe.
She grew up on a farm five miles south of Glencoe and attended both rural school and parochial school through the eighth grade.
On May 4, 1920, she married Edward Alsleben at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. After farming a short time the Alslebens owned a general store in New Auburn for some 25 years. They had lived in Glencoe since 1951. Her husband died June, 1978.
Gardening and her family were her greatest interests.
On Friday afternoon, May 19, Mrs. Alsleben died at the Glencoe Area Health Center, at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 18 days.
She is survived by: one daughter; Lola Beneke of Glencoe; three grandchildren: Carlene Leeland of Portage, Wis.; Robert Beneke and his wife, Gwen, of Glencoe, and Mark Beneke of Edina; and five great-grandchildren: Stephan Leeland, Joel Leeland, Amanda Beneke, Erin Beneke and Adam Beneke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two brothers; and three sisters.
