U.S. Navy veteran, served during World War II, the Korean War

Theodore Ginsburg, 83, of Vineland died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in the South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Born in New Castle, Pa., to the late Samuel and Anna (Berger) Ginsburg, he moved to Carmel and resided a short time in Bridgeton before moving to Vineland. Ted served two tours in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, where he held the rank of yoeman second class. Before his retirement, Ted operated Ted's Amico station at Lincoln and Landis avenues in Vineland for 16 years. He was an avid golfer and in younger years played softball for the city league in Vineland and Bridgeton. Ted was a former member of the Beth Israel Congregation and the Jewish Federation.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth H. (Welden) Ginsburg of Vineland; a sister, Marian Cotler of San Jose, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nephews and nieces.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, Morias Avenue, Millville.

Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.
