Harvey J. Mullins was one of 15 children born to Ambrose and Mary (Cooper) Mullins. Harvey married Lula Blankenship, with whom he had 8 children. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific theatre. He was a member of the Bee Branch Old Regular Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and was known for his gospel singing. Rev. Mullins retired as a coal miner, and was an Elder in his later years. He succumbed to Black Lung Disease in 1996. Survivors included his wife, 6 children, 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He was buried alongside his sons Terry and Jerry Mullins (who died in infancy) in the Ambrose Mullins Cemetery. Lula joined him in the sunset of life October 23, 2005.
