AMERINE, JAMES R. SR., 86, of Shepherdsville, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Green Meadows Healthcare Center. Jim was born on January 11, 1921 in Gallatin, Missouri. He was a self-employed builder and worked with various building companies throughout the Kentucky area including Jack Durrett and Taylor Hay. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Shepherdsville Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Geneva Lane Amerine; two children, Verna Faye Atherton of Shepherdsville and James R. Amerine Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA; a sister, Eloise Mann of Lexington; a brother, Scotty Amerine of Delaware and five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Saturday and after 11 a.m. on Sunday. Memorial gifts may be given to Shepherdsville Christian Church Prayer Garden.
