Civil War: Company F, 3rd California Infantry
William C. Jones enlisted as a corporal at San Francisco, California, November 8, 1861, and was mustered into Company F, 3rd California Infantry, at the Presidio of San Francisco November 10. Corporal Jones died of typhoid fever at Benicia Barracks and was buried in the post cemetery.
