Johnnie Jerline "Jeri" Alford, 84, was born in Marlow, Okla., to Sam and Margie James. She was married to Charles Alford on June 11, 1949 in Arvin, Calif. She was a 3rd and 5th grade teacher for 35 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1975, Retired Teachers Association, Desert Stars Red Hats, and Cactus Cuties Red Hats. She is survived by daughter, Martha Anderson of Cathedral City, Calif.; son-in-law, Jan Philip Anderson; sister, Helen (Lee) Pool of Woodland, Calif.; Sister-in-law Glenda (Butch) Harris of Oildale, Calif.; brother-in-law, George (Kathy) Fox from Utah; grandsons, Charles (Anna) Anderson of San Diego, Calif., Bryan Anderson of Gilbert, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Nikki, and Tristan Anderson. A funeral service will be held at Desert Chapel, Palm Springs, Calif. at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2014.Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
