Obituary

Mable Louise Atkins of Vestavia Hills, AL entered her Heavenly home on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born March 25, 1926 in Corinth, MS to Henry Webster and Elsie Beatrice Crow. Louise was a lifelong resident of Corinth until moving to Vestavia Hills five years ago to be near her daughter and family. She is a longtime member of Tate Baptist Church in Corinth, MS.

Louise graduated from Corinth High School. She worked for many years as the assistant to the manager of the Dr. Pepper Plant. Later she worked with her late husband and father-in-law at their family business Atkins Supermarket in Counce, TN. Louise proudly volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary for 25 years as a Pink Lady at the Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, MS.

Louise was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Norman Douglas Atkins; her parents; her brother, James William Crow and sisters, Pauline Crow Plaxico and Mary Crow Drasher; and her great grandson, Brantley Michael Vickers.

Her loving survivors are her daughter, Vicki Atkins Magee (Tommy); her grandchildren, Brandi Magee Vickers (Jonathan) and Cori Magee Prier (Scott); and her six great grandchildren, Kenton Thomas Vickers, Halle Addison Vickers, Averee Brooke Vickers, Paige Claiton Prier, Hudson Robert Prier, and Hayden Olivia Prier all of Vestavia Hills, AL. Louise is also survived by a very special niece whom she loved like a daughter, Susan Crow Young of Corinth along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins all dearly loved by her.

"Nannie" was a gracious southern lady adored by her entire family and will be greatly missed by so many people. We are rejoicing that she will be reunited with the family that preceded her in death that she has missed for so many years.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service time at 1:00 p.m. at McPeters Funeral Home in Corinth, MS. Following the service there will be a private burial at the White Sulphur Cemetery in Pickwick, TN. Arrangements under the direction of McPeters Funeral Directors, Corinth, MS.
