William C. Abbott, known to his friends as Pete Abbott died at his home near Paynterville during Sunday night. He had been sick of tuberculosis for a long time.
He was a man held in high esteem by his friends and acquaintances. He had lived all his life in Madison township and was well known to nearly every inhabitant. He was almost seventy years old. An obituary will be published later.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Elder A.M. Weaver in charge. The burial service was conducted by Mason of Stockton and Fair Play.
