Ernest Asbell, 73, a resident of 2124 W. Texas St, the past 2 years and formerly of Edwards, died at 2:15 am yesterday in Proctor Hospital where he had been a patient since Dec 6.
A resident of the area most of his life, he was born March 26, 1893 at George City, MO, the son of Albert and Sarah Watson Asbell. he was married to Margaret Kirkman in Peoria and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Fries of Peoria; Mrs. Luella Fries, Beverly Manor; four sons, Ernest A. and Arthur Asbell, both of Peoria; Leonard B and James Asbell, both of Edwards; one sister, Mrs. Ella Payne, Farmington, Minn; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Asbell was employed as a coal miner for many years and had lived in Edwards for many years where he was employed as custodian at the Edwards School for about 4 years. He retired in 1958.
