Rosemary E. Alflen The first of two children, born to Fred and Katheryn Schalansky in Alton, Kansas on January 30, 1940, went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2007. She attended school in Alton, Kansas and went on to accept her first job for the Boy Scouts of America. She married Duane M. Alflen on April 15, 1961 and moved to Washington State in 1963. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Duane. She is survived by four children, Lori Smith (Rex), Lisa Deck (Todd), Lynnea Renkert (Paul) and Jennifer Alflen, six grandchildren Christopher, Tristan, and Sarah Smith, Joshua and Jonathan Deck, and Brandon Renkert. Also, brother Richard Schalansky (Linda). Mom and Dad owned and operated Midland Automotive in Midland, Washington for 30 years. Rosemary was dedicated to the rights and care of people with disabilities. Before her illness she worked passionately and volunteered countless hours to this cause. Services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Fir Lane Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Fir Lane Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 2-7:00 pm.
