Obituary in Mt. Horeb, WI newspaper November, 1938 -
Mrs. Inger Maria Anderson was born Sept. 13, 1857, in the town of Vermont, Dane Co., Wis. Her parents were Hans and Inger Everson, pioneer settlers of Dane county. She was both baptized and confirmed in the Vermont Lutheran church. She was united in marriage to Andrew Anderson at Black Earth.
They first settled in the village of Black Earth. From there they moved to Old Town at Blue Mounds and joined the W. Blue Mounds Lutheran church. The past 52 years Mrs. Anderson has lived on the old homestead farm in the town of Blue Mounds, just above "Little Norway." Her husband passed away Aug. 9, 1928.
Mrs. Anderson has been in failing health for many years, especially the past two years. She passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 9 a. m. She attained the age of 81 years, 2 months and 3 days.
She is survived by five sons and two daughters. The sons are: Henry, town of Springdale; Dave, Madison; Edward, town of Blue Mounds; Sam, town of Perry; and Adolph, town of Cross Plains. The daughters are Ida, (Mrs. Henry Moen, town of Vermont), and Emma, (Mrs. Gilbert Swenson) also of the town of Vermont. Two sons, both named Alfred, preceded her in death. She is also survived by a brother, Sam Evenson, of Terrace, Minn., and by 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Hans, and four sisters, Mrs. Knut Lunde, Mrs. Ole Olson, Mrs. Knut Bjorkman and Christine, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Anderson was an industrious and faithful wife and mother, who feared God and respected His word and church.
Her funeral took place Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1:30 p. m. from her home and at 2 o'clock from West Blue Mounds Lutheran church, her pastor, the Rev. E. R. Anderson, offciating. The pallbearers were her five sons and a son in law, Gilbert Swenson. Burial was made in the Blue Mounds Lutheran cemetery.
