Charles "Chucky" Leroy Bates, age 54, son of Shirley Ann (Quinn) and Charles Leroy Bates, Sr., was born March 9, 1958 in Chicago, Ill. He passed away Nov. 4, 2012 in Elmhurst, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles on June 28, 1998 and his mother Shirley on February 17, 2011.

He is survived by his wife Anne of Elmhurst, IL; one brother Robert Bates and wife Jamie and their daughter Samantha of Melrose Park, IL and one sister, Theresa Bates of Elmhurst, IL; and a host of family and friends.

Chucky married Anne Robles on November 24, 1987 in Missouri. They made their home in Elmhurst, IL. He was an Executive Customer Service Representative with Comcast for several years.

Chucky and Anne loved to travel before he became ill. He loved computers and computer games and playing chess. He also had a special place in his heart for his three dogs, Gizzy, Morgan and Sasha, who will miss him very much.

Chucky had a great sense of humor and remained extremely upbeat throughout his illness. Chucky loved his family. He was a great husband, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
