Richard E. Cederoth, 75 years, of Oswego, IL, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born December 13, 1929 in Galesburg, IL, the son of the late Elmer A. and Kate (nee House) Cederoth.

Richard graduated from Bradley University in 1958 with a B.S. in Industrial Education and Business. Bud worked for Alexander Lumber from 1958 to 1995, then he retired from the Oswego location, where he was the manager.

He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL, where he had served as an usher, parish council, baptism preparation team and the building committee for the new church, American Legion, Oswego Council of the Knights of Columbus, Oswego Downtown Business Association, Chamber of Commerce, Oswego Plan Commission, where he previously served as chairman and the Oswego Zoning Board.

In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working, golf and Civil War history. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (nee Norton) Cederoth, whom he married on August 31, 1956 in Salina, KS; seven children, Kathy (John) Donofrio of Downers Grove, IL, Rick (Lisa) Cederoth of Oak Park, IL, Karen (Bill) Callahan of Claredon Hills, IL, Gail (Steve) Taggart of Chicago, IL, A.J. (Cati) Cederoth of Naperville, IL, Joanne (Bud) Pygon of Elmhurst, IL, and Meg Cederoth of Washington, DC; 17 grandchildren, Tony, and Lisa Donofrio, Theresa, Ann, Joe and Paul Cederoth, Matt, Patrick, Emily and Sarah Callahan, Reith and Ethan Taggart, Michael and Ben Cederoth, Thomas, Andrew and Helen Pygon; two sisters, Gail (Tom) Bullis of Galesburg, IL, Mary (D.F.) Merrill of Montgomery, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Kristin Donofrio.

Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. & Cremation Services at 210 S. Madison Street in Oswego, IL.
The Funeral will be from the funeral home on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 9:30 AM to St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL, for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Dan Stempora. Burial will take place at the Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
