Thomas Peter Brown, age 65, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 5, 1939 in Aurora, IL, the son of Fred and Catherine (Theisen) Brown.
Tom graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School in 1953, and Marmion Military Academy in 1957. He was united in marriage on October 29, 1960 in Joliet, IL, to the former Anna Mae Libersher. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Yorkville, IL, where he served as an Usher, as well as at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora, IL. He was employed by Caterpillar in Aurora as a Tool & Die Maker, until his retirement in 2000, when he pursued his life-long dream for the farm. Tom was a member of various clubs and activities, such as being a Boy Scout Leader at Sacred Heart Church. He helped start Explorer Post #468 VFW in Aurora, IL, was a member of the St. Mary's School board in Plano, IL, and the Knights of Columbus #736. He was also a 4th Degree member of the Marquette Assembly K. of C., the Yorkville Moose Lodge #2371, and was a Past President and member of Lynwood Civic Improvement Association, and the Caterpillar Retirees Club UAW 145.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Anna Mae, of Oswego, IL; his two sons, Fred (Tina) Brown of Montgomery, IL, and Robert Brown, of Lake Geneva, WI; his three daughters, Catherine (Frank) Scalise, of Montgomery, IL, Lauri (Jay) Young, of Newark, IL, Sherri Brown, U.S. Army, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; his 18 grandchildren, April Greenwood, (Fiance Wally Strait), Michael Puccini, Jr., Joseph Puccini, Travis Brown, Vincent Brown, Matthew Brown, Justin Brown, Zachary Leech, Cassady Leech, Jeremy Scalise, Austin Leech, Ivory Scalise, Gianna Scalise, Starr Goldsberry, Jordin Goldsberry, Cheyenne Goldsberry, Alexis Young, and Tylor Brown; his sister, Mary Feiden, of Aurora, IL; his nephew, Dale (Karen) Feiden, of Aurora, IL; his neice, Theresa Hinterlong, of Aurora, IL; his mother-in-law, Josephine Libersher, of Joliet, IL, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Libersher, of Joliet, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Brown on November 14, 1972 and Catherine (Theisen) Brown on November 2, 1991; his father-in-law, Albert Libersher on January 20, 1969; his niece, Catherine Feiden on October 15, 1969; and his great-nephew, Benjamin Feiden on November 22, 1990.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Brown will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 29, 2004 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St. in Yorkville, IL, with Father Kenneth Theisen, cousin of Tom, officiating. Interment will follow in the Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
