Medina County Gazette-December 14, 1893: Belinda Merriman Ainsworth. Death came to the relief of Belinda Ainsworth on Thursday forenoon, December 7. For nearly 2 years she had been on a sick bed awaiting the final summons that must come to all. Deceased was one of the noted in noble women whose deeds of charity, whose kindness of heart and whose cheerfulness of spirit will ever live after them, and will be remembered by all who were acquainted with her. Mrs. Ainsworth was in earnest and indisputable worker in all that would add to the comfort, or bring happiness to others. Unselfishly she labored for the good of others while still suffering the pain of a slow creeping but fatal disease. She was born in Randolph, Portage County, Ohio, January 20, 1819. On May 20, 1844, she was married to Danforth Ainsworth at Strongsville Ohio. After residents nearly a year they moved to Medina. Mr. Ainsworth having embarked in business here. Mr. Ainsworth's sudden death in Cleveland in the spring of 1866, while on a business trip to that city, will be remembered by many of our readers. The sad calamity left the wife and a mother with four children and a large estate and business interests to look after. Of this union there were born five children, who all but one has gone before her. The only child left of the family is D. H. Ainsworth of San Antonio Texas, in the neighborhood of which he has large land interests. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from her late home, the Rev. J. R. Nichols officiating. Despite the bad and disagreeable weather, there was a large attendance.
