MONTELLO — Beatrice "Bea" Ann Faulkner, 79, of Montello, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Montello Care Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bea was born on Oct. 20, 1929, in Beloit, Wis., to Frank and Gladys (Holmes) Klingberg.
She married John S. Faulkner Sr. on June 12, 1947, whom she later divorced. Bea was a very talented seamstress and avid reader. At one time, she had nearly read every book in the local library. She was probably better known as owner and operator of the Be-Jax Sundowner Motel in Montello.
She was a member of the Montello Women's Club as well as a member of the Montello Chamber of Commerce. Her family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren.
Bea is survived by two sons, John S. Faulkner Jr. of Montello, and William D. (Carol) Faulkner of Onalaska; four grandchildren, William J. (fiancée, Briena Schultz) Faulkner of La Crosse, Jeremy (Sarah) Faulkner of Chicago, Manda (Joe Don) Wilkes of Crocker, Mo., and Marc (fiancee', Dee Yi) Faulkner of Crocker, Mo.; and seven great-grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Blake, Adam, Sean, David and Macella Faulkner. Bea is further survived by a sister, Nancy Christopherson; a brother-in-law, Don Walters; along with Jan Faulkner, Rose Eatherton and many nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David B. Faulkner; an infant son; a grandson, Mike Faulkner; a sister, Wanda Walters; and a brother-in-law, Don Christopherson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Crawford Funeral Home, 453 E. Park St., Montello, with the Rev. Ron Larson officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until time of services. Interment will take place in Montello City Cemetery immediately following the service.
