He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Holloway Beasley in 1990 and a son-in-law, Gerald Dixon in 2004. He is survived by one son, Michael W. Beasley, Sr. and wife, Tonya, of Durham; one daughters, Jean Beasley Dixon of Durham; one brother, Wallace C. Beasley, of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Brenda D. Littleton, of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael W. Beasley, Jr., Linda D. Lassiter and Nina M. Beasley, all of Durham; one great-grandchild, Chesney Cole Lassiter and two step-sisters, Becky Sanders and Betty Harrington
Mr. Beasley was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Eddie Rufus Beasley and Eva Barbee Beasley. He was a retired tobacco and cow farmer. Mr. Beasley was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and the Bethesda Ruritan Club.
