PILOT MOUNTAIN, NC ~ Mrs. Carol B. Badgett, 68, of Old Hollow Road, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2002. She was born in Summers County, W.Va., to Mrs. Erma B. Ballengee and Mr. Paul R. Ballengee. Mrs. Badgett was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mr. W. Frank Badgett of the home; three sons, Mr. James F. Badgett and Mr. Paul B. Badgett, both of Pilot Mountain and Mr. Charles "Sport" Badgett and wife Chancie of Rural Hall; a granddaughter, Miss Madeline Rayne Badgett; and four sisters, Mrs. Eleanor (Kenneth) Peters of Winston Salem, Mrs. Leona (Bill) Corker of Lewisburg, W.Va., Mrs. Ruth (Eddie) Cobb of Hinton, W.Va. and Mrs. Nita (Dick) Sims of Alderson, W.Va. Mrs. Badgett was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 25, 2002, at Cox Needham Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Peters. Interment will follow at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in floral tribute or to Northern Hospice, P.O. Box 6626, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The Badgett family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain.
