Mildred Alene Alford Richter, 92, was born April 26, 1919, in Buffalo, the youngest child of Jack and Alma Stafford. She died Sept. 23, 2011.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Buffalo. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren.

As a young woman she worked at Engles Dime Store.

She was united in marriage to Bertram Noah Alford on June 1, 1941. They were married for 41 years when he died on Feb. 22, 1984.

She was a lifelong resident of Buffalo except for a short time when they lived in Wyoming.

She was united in marriage with Bill Richter on Sept. 18, 1987. He died Aug. 25, 1990.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; three brothers: Leon Stafford, Lowell Stafford and Clifton Stafford; her daughter, Patty Donley; and infant grandson, Jay Arron Donley.

Survivors include her daughters: Janice and husband, Dewey Bramwell, Buffalo, and Jacquelyn and husband, Daryl Beck, Pleasant Hill; a son-in-law, Gene Donley, Bolivar; five grandchildren: Troy and wife, Becky Beck, Angela and husband, Rick Bishop, Melissa and husband, Rick Bennett, Daren and wife, Felecia Beck, and Gina and husband, Chris Green; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Sept. 25 in First Baptist Church, Buffalo, with the Rev. Tim Haupt officiating. Music was by Mary Ellen Chapman who sang, "In the Garden" and "I'll Fly Away," accompanied by pianist Betsy Earls. Burial was in Reynolds Cemetery under the direction of Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Escorts were Troy Beck, Daren Beck, Rick Bennett, Rick Bishop, Chris Green and Wade Bone.
