It is believed that this is William R. Sides who married Sarah Cauble, daughter of John Cauble in 1847 and divorced shortly after.
It is believed that this is the same William R. Sides who married Sarah Taylor, April 12, 1853 in Union County. The following census may be of this couple although the age doesn't fit well:
1860 Union Co., IL, T11S, R3W - 195/195 - William Sides, carpenter, 45 NC; Sarah, 42 TN; Sarah Hampton, servant, 47? OH; Hammond Johnson, laborer, 18 TN
