Neil J. Anspach, 75, of Elm Street, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at his home following a brave bout with pancreatic cancer.
He was born March 2, 1937, in Anthony Township, Montour County, a son of the late Irvin D. and Belle C. (Heddings) Anspach. He was married to the former Janet L. Persun on Feb. 14, 1959 and they have celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Neil was a veteran of the Army National Guard having served during the Vietnam War from 1960-66.
He was employed for two years at Milton Shoe, 24 years at Philco-Ford, Watsontown, and retired in 2006 after working 24 years at Mohawk Doors, Northumberland.
Neil was a life member of the Watsontown American Legion and former member of the Muncy Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Neil's special interests were woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan and also raised blonde quail, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie L. and Karl Kinser, of White Deer; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim N. and Gena Anspach, of Turbotville; five grandchildren, Tim Anspach Jr., Amber Yost, Tara Beers, and Tony and Travis Kinser; five great-grandchildren, Savannah Kinser, Alexa and Mason Beers, Levi Anspach, and Lydia Yost; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tilman A. and Ginny Anspach, of Milton, and Larry I. and Lorraine Anspach, of Washingtonville.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janine Anspach in 1974, and one great-grandchild, Munchkin Yost in January 2012.
