Funeral services for Wewoka resident James Colton Jones are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Wewoka with Rev. Russell Ryker and Rev. Lendal
Bolin officiating. Interment is to follow at the Jones Family Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips
Jim Jones passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 at the age of 77years. He was born Aug. 19, 1929 to James F. and
Pearl (Colton) Jones.
He started his mechanic occupation at the Ford Garage at
the age of 15 years. He served six years in the United States Army.
Jim owned and operated Jones Truck Repair from 1980 to 2006.
He was married to Helen Pierce on Aug. 8, 1955. They
celebrated their 51st anniversary this month.
His parents, one brother, Harry L. (Bud) Jones and one
brother-in-law, Howard Evans preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Helen Jones of the home; two daugh-
ters, Debbie and husband Alan Sing of Arkadelphia, Ark. and Donna and husband Ronnie Church of Oklahoma City; one
son, Kevin and wife Debbie Jones of Seminole; three sisters, Juanita Evans of Wewoka, Melba and husband
Darrell Brumley of Skiatook and June Metts of Tulsa; two
brothers, Avis Jones of Chadwick, Mo. and Bob and wife Judy Jones of Denton, Texas; one sister-in-law, Betty
Jones of Edmond; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers for the services will be Donnie Young, Rich-
ard Bruner, Darrel Streater, Roy Sisco, Charles Sisco and
Honorary bearers will be Joe Talbert, George Sharp, Art
Garner and Dick Kay.
