He was born January 31, 1930 in Mexico to the late Jose and Herminia Calderon Aguilera. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and worked all of his life as a ranch hand.
Survivors include: his wife, Lenor Aguilera of Van Vleck; daughters, Herminia Recendez of Markham, Lupe Bowan of Hampton, Virginia, Connie Kelsey of Katy, Theresa Cowan of Bay City, Mary Luera of Katy and Alicia Mendoza of Rhode Island; sons, Pedro Aguilera, Jr. and Joe Aguilera both of Katy, Gilbert Aguilera of Rock Island, Texas and Paul Aguilera of Houston; step daughters, Chris Clements of Van Vleck and Isa Melancon of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; step-son, Dale Trevino of Van Vleck; sister, Cata Aguilera of Mexico; twenty four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Corey and Colby Kelsey, Rickey Aguilera, Stewart Hutson, Darryl Davis and Chuck Cowan.
