Obituary from the Columbian Missourian. John Newton Falloon died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Lenoir Healthcare in Columbia. He was 89.
Mr. Falloon was born July 5, 1913. in Bourbon, to Walter and Grace Falloon. He married Ervena Liles in Jefferson City on May 21, 1939.
A member of Woodlandville Methodist Church and then First Christian Church in Columbia, he participated in the Epsilon Sigma Phi Honorary Extension Fraternity, Mystical Seven, International Students Host Families, and Alpha Gamma Rho - Noble Ruler Senior Year. He was an Extension Soils Specialist for the University of Missouri for 47 years. He was in India from 1967 to 1970 with the U.S. Agency for International Development.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Columbia. Mr. Falloon is survived by his wife, Ervina Liles Falloon of Columbia; two daughters, Ann Heidy of Columbia and Mary Sue Bledsoe of Lee's Summit; three brothers, Ray Falloon of Montgomery City, Louis Falloon of Bourbon, and Ernest Falloon of Harrisburg; two sisters, Doris Condra of Venice, Fla., and Reeta Schramm of Montgomery City; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
