Mrs. Cantwell died Friday, July 13, at the Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Prentiss, Miss., and had lived in East Carroll Parish before moving to Tallulah where she resided for 18 years. She had lived in Delhi for the past 12 years. She was a member of Herringville Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters. Alma Kirksey of West Monroe. Agnes McVay of Delhi and Gayle Smith and husband, Nolan, of West Monroe: one son-in-law, H. Lee Arledge of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren and a number of great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Walter Q. Cantwell; three daughters, Myra Octavia Arledge, Nina Louise Prince and Norma Lee Cantwell; three sons-in-law, the Rev. Billy Kirksey, Burin Lee McVay and Peter S. Prince.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
