Mr. Wilbert "Bay-Bay" or "E-Shoe" Guerin was 76, born June 6, 1929, and departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was a resident of Baton Rouge, a native of Lakeland, and the son of Lou Lou Samuel and Richard Guerin. With the early death of his parents, he was reared by his Aunt Alberta Jones and her husband, whose children treated him as their brother. Though a man of few words, he did confess his faith to his sister, Claudia Jones, prior to his death.
Mr. Wilbert Guerin leaves to cherish his memory his son, Wilfred Guerin Sr., and devoted daughter-in-law, Yvonne, of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Patricia "Lou-Lou" Guerin and spouse Larry Clark of Baker and Louise "Lorraine" Guerin-Stewart and spouse Willie; mother of his children, Lillie Mae Zeno-Scott; devoted adopted son, George, and daughter-in-law, Bernadette Lathan; devoted and lifelong friend, Mr. Eugene Bonaventure and family; five sisters, Helen Lathan of Erwinville, Leona Christophe of Lakeland, and Sara Jones, Claudia Jones and Louise Rosaya, all of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Louis Jones and Larry Jones, both of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, DeShawn Thompson, Wilfred Guerin Jr., Jessica Thompson, Kiara Stewart and Wilbert Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Lamonta Guerin, Arionna Guerin and Talaijah Sterling; and a godchild, Lawanda Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a grandson, DaShawn Thompson.
Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center, 9348 Scenic Highway, until religious service, conducted by the Rev. Barry Cushenberry, associate pastor of Promised Land Baptist Church. Interment in Lady of Knight Cemetery.
