"A wedding of interest to their many friends was that of Miss Mamie Murray to Mr. Jack Allen of Healdton which took place Sunday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Murray, Rev. H.P. Robinson officiating. Only members of the family and a few intimate friends were present. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Allen left for Healdton, where Mr. Allen is in business. The bride is a young woman of pleasing personality. She is well known here, having lived here since childhood. She was very active in our school work, having taught in this community for several terms, and her many friends regret her departure from the city."

"In New Caledonia
Somewhere in New Caledonia, May 16. - When T.5, Royce T. Allen, son of Mrs. Mamie Allen, Woodford, Okla., and husband of Mrs. Hilda F. Allen of Mississippi, left the United States some months ago to serve overseas with the 29th General hospital, he came with an organization comprised of some of the most skilled doctors, nurses, administrators, and technicians available.

Prior to his induction into the army May 5, 1942, cpl. Allen was associated with the Texas Oil Co. His duties as a surgical technician with the hospital are considerably different but Royce has quickly familiarized himself with the task at hand and is satisfactorily and efficiently performing his job."
