Sigvard of Sweden
Original name:  Sigvard Oscar Fredrik
Birth: Feb. 7, 1907
Death: Feb. 4, 2002

Prince and Duke. He was Duke of Uplandia (Uppland) and later Count Bernadotte af Wisborg. He lost his royal titles in 1934 after marrying a commoner without government approval. He was later divorced and married twice more, also to non-royals. Sigvard was a well-known industrial designer in his own right and created many famous housewares with appreciated modern shapes and forms. His father was King Gustav VI Adolf who reigned from 1950-1973, and the present King Carl XVI Gustaf is his nephew. He 'reclaimed' his royal title in his old age and insisted on being called Prince, causing a lot of public debate and even a legal trial.
