Mrs. Hessie Stewart Beckenbach, 86, resident of Walton Circle in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with J.D. Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Gibsonville Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Stewart and Annie Bell Hickman Stewart. She was married to James Nathaniel Beckenbach who preceded her in death June 13, 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, James L. Beckenbach of Culleoka; a daughter, Katherine Beckenbach of Mt. Pleasant; half-sister, Bobbie Mae Stewart Hutson of Normandy; two grandchildren, Ray (Christy) Beckenbach of Lewisburg, Lee Beckenbach of Illinois; three great-grandchildren, David Ray Beckenbach, Christopher Lee Beckenbach, Krystal Renee Beckenbach; and two step-great-grandchildren, Kayla Rhodes and Brandon Sanders.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
