July 25, 1927 - September 3, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Leon Norman Galoob passed away Monday afternoon, September 3, 2012. Leon was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on July 25, 1927 to Sam Galoob and Sarah Tarbis Galoob. He was the youngest of his 7 siblings, Dorothy, Henry, Maurice, Ruth, Lewis, and Maxine (Mickey). Leon was raised in both Healdton and Oklahoma City, OK, and was always very proud of his Okie roots. Leon served in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and 1946 before attending the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Management Engineering in 1951. He went on to found Interstate Metals along with Bob Acres and Barry Segal in 1963. It was at OU that Leon met his beloved Charlotte Ann (Chuck). They met in 1946 and were married in 1950. Their marriage lasted 62 years before Chuck passed away in May of 2012. Their children are Mike and Teresa Galoob of Norman OK, grandchildren Sarah, Sam, Mike and his wife Becky Galoob, and great-grandchildren Ellen and Lily of Wakefield, RI; Beth Galoob-Green of Denver, CO and grandchild Brandon; and Bruce and Barbara Galoob of Denver, CO and grandchildren Allison, Amy, and Austin. Leon was known for his laughter, energy, and kindness, and regarded everyone with the same friendship. He always considered his family his greatest accomplishment and was always proud to share his children and grandchildren with everyone he met. Leon, together with Chuck, left a legacy through them that will be carried on for generations. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Temple B'Nai Israel with Interment to follow at Temple B'Nai Israel Cemetery.
