Stilwell, OK- Graveside services for Melvin Jarome Campbell will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Shirley Cemetery with Pastor Maurice Sheppard officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Melvin Jarome Campbell was born on November 13th, 1951 in Christie, OK the son of Jarome and Mildred (Sharp) Campbell. He passed from this life on October 22nd, 2012 at his home at the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 9 days.
He married his loving wife Cressie Thompson at Eldon, OK on December 22nd, 1969.Together they raised two sons.
Mel was a huge football fan and supported his favorite team OU, as well as the Yankee's, his favorite baseball team. He loved to watch a good western on TV. Mell was happy to work his cattle or spend an afternoon fishing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could make you smile.
The most important part of his life was his wife, children, and family. He loved to spend the day with them just to share a laugh and a smile.
Mell is preceded in death by his father Jarome Campbell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Cressie of the home, his mother, Mildred of Eldon, OK, his eldest son, Greg and wife Amanda of Eldon and his youngest son, Jay of Eldon, OK. His pride and joy include his four grandchildren, Ashley Campbell, Adrien Campbell, Aaryn Campbell and Sydni Moore. He leaves two brothers, Joel Campbell and wife Deloris of Christie, Ernest Campbell and wife Mary of Eldon, and one sister, Mary Kleist and husband Roy of Eldon, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
