official record with the Confederate States Army reads as follows: BRADBURN, ISAAC N., Sergeant, Company E, 32nd Regiment N. C. Troops - Resided in Alexander County and enlisted in Catawba County at age 28, September 12, 1861. Mustered in as Private. Promoted to Sergeant on May 1, 1862. Present or accounted for until captured at Cedar Creek, Virginia, October 19, 1864. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, October 28, 1864. Paroled at Point Lookout and transferred to Boulware's Wharf, James River, Virginia, where he was received on March 19, 1865, for exchange. [North Carolina Troops - 1861-1865-A Roster; Vol. 9:47]
