Othmar (Ottie) G. Bauer, age 81 of Jasper died at 8:30 a.m. Monday (December 22, 2008) in the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
He was born on July 7, 1927 in Jasper, Indiana to Adam and Amelia (Krodel) Bauer. Married to Dolores Jochum May 23, 1957 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Ottie was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Supervisor where he worked for 27 years in Jasper.
He coached the Wrens for 10 years in Jasper and did volunteer work at St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years.
He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society - American Legion Post #147 and a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 673
Ottie was an avid Stamp Collector.

Funeral services for Ottie Bauer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (December 27, 2008) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. V.F.W.Post # 673 will conduct Military Grave Side Rites.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday (December 26, 2008) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital Palliative Care of Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
