Vivian Ackerman, age 98, Brownstown, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mrs. Ackerman was a member of Brownstown Christian Church and a homemaker. She was a member of Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.

Born Jan. 4, 1914, in Kurtz, she was the daughter of Howard and Isaphene Matlock Armbruster, both of whom preceded her in death. On Dec. 25, 1934, in Odon, she married Neal Ackerman, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1994.

Survivors include one son, Stephen (Peggy) Ackerman, Brownstown; one son-in-law, Herbert E. Bultman Jr., Cape Coral, Fla; six grandchildren, Mary (Toby) Elmore, Bruce (Jane) Bultman, Julie (Bruce) Cassady, Drew (Kate) Ackerman, Tom (Nancy) Ackerman and Stephanie Ackerman; and nine great-grandchildren, Eric Bultman, Nicole Bultman, Jenny Bultman, Brittany Cantu, Trevor Cassady, Jack Ackerman, Zoe Ackerman, Neal Ackerman and Luke Ackerman.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nan Bultman; a brother, William Howard Armbruster; and three sisters, Lorene Hargrove, Lillian Berry and Fern Stark.

Michael Hogg will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m.Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Brownstown Christian Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary or Brownstown Christian Church Building Fund.
