Born on November 7,1952 Dana C. Arnold was a starting forward at Mount Rainier High School in 1970-71 on the highest-scoring basketball team in Class AAA State Tournament history.

Arnold, a first-team All-North Puget Sound League choice as a senior, was the No. 2 scorer (13.6) and rebounder (10.3) on the 1971 Mount Rainier team which averaged 79.8 points a game with a 4 game total that has never been surpassed. Mount Rainier took 3rd place in the Class AAA tourney.

After high school in 1978 Dana opened the first pharmacy on Lopez Island, located in Washington State's San Juan Islands, with Dana as the pharmacist and owner. For many years he tirelessly served the Lopez Island community who had difficulty getting medications flown or ferried over previously.

Tragically, Dana at age 32 and two other persons perished in a plane crash on Lopez on January 27, 1985. After Dana's tragic plane crash the Arnold family tried to continue operating the pharmacy but unfortunately in 1988 the pharmacy was forced to close.
