Max was born in Palestine, TX to Lee Anderson and Bessie Gossett Amason. His parents are buried in New Addition of Palestine City Cemetery. He shares a stone with his wife, Pearl Fincher Amason, who he married 22 July 1939 in Anderson Co, TX. He was a retired machinist for the railroad. He was residing in Palestine at the time of his death in a Tyler, TX hospital. He was survived by; two daughters, Lynda Jean Amason Woolverton and Michele Lynn Amason, both of Palestine; one son, Johnny Max Amason of Katy; two sisters, Helen Amason Ferguson of Palestine and Janet Amason of Kerrville; one brother, J.
